I am Malala – by Malala Yousafzai
Beauty comes from the inside. I want to share this book with you because it made me feel so good, uplifted and positive.
I am Malala is the true story of a young girl living in Swat, Pakistan who fights for her right to an education when it was banned for girls to attend school by the Taliban in 2009. She was 15 years old when she was shot in the head while on a school bus after being targeted by the Taliban. Miraculously she survived and continues to advocate for girl’s education. At 17 she became the youngest person to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
The book is beautifully written with an understanding beyond her years. A lot of credit goes to her father who is also an educational activist.
It gives us hope that strength and bravery prevail against adverse odds and that one small voice from humble beginnings can be heard worldwide to promote peace, equality and education.
Bravo Malala for writing this book and good luck on your continued journey. I think everyone should read this book.
